Emerge Digital (“Emerge Digital,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates Content Lab, a software service that helps website owners research content opportunities, develop article briefs, generate and revise article drafts, review content, and export content for customer-controlled publishing.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information when you visit or use Content Lab, communicate with us, or purchase a subscription.
Content Lab is offered only to individuals and businesses located in the United States. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
By using Content Lab, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account information
We may collect:
- Your name.
- Email address.
- Password in securely hashed form.
- Email-verification status.
- Account preferences.
- Workspace and site associations.
- Communications and support requests.
- Policy-consent records.
We do not store your password in readable form.
2.2 Website and business-profile information
When you configure Content Lab, we may collect or generate:
- Website domain and URLs.
- Sitemap location.
- Business or site description.
- Industry or niche.
- Target audience.
- Products and services.
- Calls to action.
- Writing voice and tone.
- Writing preferences.
- Prohibited claims.
- Keywords and topics.
- Discovery queries.
- Selected public website pages and article text.
- Customer-confirmed onboarding information.
2.3 Customer Content
“Customer Content” includes content that you submit, import, create, edit, or generate through Content Lab, including:
- Pasted text.
- Writing samples.
- Knowledge documents.
- Article instructions.
- Personal notes and examples.
- Must-include and must-avoid instructions.
- Reference URLs.
- Article briefs.
- Drafts and revisions.
- Quality reports.
- Image prompts.
- Exported Markdown or HTML.
- Feedback and approval decisions.
Do not submit sensitive personal information, confidential third-party information, health information, financial account information, government identification numbers, passwords, authentication credentials, or other information that is not necessary to use Content Lab.
2.4 Publicly available information
At your direction, Content Lab may retrieve information from publicly accessible websites, sitemaps, RSS feeds, search results, news sources, discussion platforms, and other public sources.
We may process page titles, URLs, excerpts, article text, metadata, publication dates, and similar public information to analyze a site or identify content opportunities.
You are responsible for selecting websites and sources that you are legally permitted to access and use.
2.5 Billing information
Payments are processed by Stripe or another disclosed payment processor.
We may receive:
- Stripe customer and subscription identifiers.
- Selected plan.
- Billing frequency.
- Subscription status.
- Payment status.
- Invoice information.
- Billing country.
- Limited payment-method details, such as card brand and last four digits.
- Cancellation and renewal information.
We do not receive or store full payment-card numbers or card security codes.
2.6 Usage and technical information
We may collect:
- IP address.
- Browser and device information.
- Login and session activity.
- Referring pages.
- Application pages and features used.
- Registration and onboarding events.
- Discovery scans.
- Article-generation and revision activity.
- Export events.
- Queue and job status.
- Error and diagnostic information.
- AI provider and model used.
- Input and output token counts.
- Estimated service cost.
- Rate-limit and security events.
We seek to avoid placing full article content, passwords, API keys, payment credentials, or unnecessary prompt content in routine logs.
2.7 Cookies and similar technologies
Content Lab uses cookies and similar technologies for:
- Authentication.
- Session continuity.
- Security.
- CSRF protection.
- Remembering preferences.
- Billing-flow continuity.
- Basic application performance and analytics.
- Advertising measurement, when you choose to allow marketing technologies.
Essential cookies are required for Content Lab to function.
When enabled, we use the Meta Pixel on our public marketing pages to understand which advertisements and visits lead to account registrations. Meta may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, browser information, page visits, and event data to provide advertising measurement, analytics, attribution, and ad delivery services. Content Lab sends a standard CompleteRegistration event after a successful signup. We do not intentionally send Meta your name, email address, password, customer website content, prompts, knowledge documents, briefs, or drafts through this integration.
The Meta Pixel does not load until you select “Allow marketing.” You may select “Essential only” or reopen “Privacy choices” in the website footer. You may also manage activity associated with Meta technologies through your Facebook or Instagram Accounts Center and use industry opt-out tools such as YourAdChoices.
Depending on where you live, advertising measurement or ad delivery through Meta may be considered targeted advertising, sharing, or a similar regulated activity. We honor applicable privacy rights as described below.
3. How We Use Information
We may use information to:
- Create and manage accounts.
- Verify email addresses.
- Authenticate users.
- Provide and operate Content Lab.
- Analyze customer-authorized websites.
- Import and process public site content.
- Generate site profiles and suggested discovery queries.
- Conduct content discovery.
- Generate and score opportunities.
- Generate and edit briefs.
- Generate, revise, and review articles.
- Maintain draft-version history.
- Generate quality reports and image prompts.
- Provide exports.
- Enforce trials, plans, usage limits, and revision allowances.
- Process subscriptions and billing.
- Send transactional messages.
- Provide customer support.
- Detect fraud, abuse, security threats, and policy violations.
- Diagnose failures and improve reliability.
- Measure product activation and performance.
- Estimate provider costs and protect against unexpected spending.
- Enforce our agreements.
- Comply with legal obligations.
- Protect customers, Emerge Digital, and the public.
We may use aggregated or de-identified information to understand product performance and improve Content Lab, provided it cannot reasonably identify you or your business.
4. Artificial Intelligence Processing
Content Lab sends selected Customer Content and site context to configured artificial-intelligence providers to perform requested functions.
Depending on configuration, information sent to an AI provider may include:
- Site profile.
- Writing voice.
- Customer instructions.
- Knowledge excerpts.
- Imported public content.
- Article brief.
- Current draft.
- Selected draft section.
- Revision request.
- Quality-review context.
We limit submitted context to information reasonably needed for the requested task.
Third-party AI providers process information under their applicable API terms, privacy terms, data controls, and our service configuration. Their practices may change independently of Emerge Digital.
Emerge Digital does not use Customer Content to train a proprietary Content Lab foundation model.
AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, nonexclusive, or similar to content generated for others. You are responsible for reviewing generated content before using or publishing it.
5. Search and Public Content Providers
Content Lab may use search and discovery providers, including Brave Search and public RSS-based sources, to locate publicly available content.
Search queries may contain:
- Customer-approved topics.
- Keywords.
- Industry terms.
- Website niche.
- Geographic or audience context.
We do not intentionally include passwords, private account content, or unnecessary personal information in search queries.
6. How We Disclose Information
We may disclose information to service providers that help operate Content Lab, including providers of:
- Cloud hosting and server management.
- Databases, cache, and queues.
- Artificial intelligence.
- Search and content discovery.
- Payment processing.
- Transactional email.
- Bot and abuse prevention.
- Error monitoring.
- File storage and backup.
- Analytics, if enabled.
- Legal, accounting, security, and professional services.
These providers may process information only as necessary to provide their services or as otherwise permitted by their agreements and applicable law.
We may also disclose information:
- To comply with law, subpoena, court order, or legal process.
- To investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, or violations.
- To protect the rights, property, or safety of Emerge Digital, customers, or others.
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets.
- At your direction or with your consent.
7. No Sale of Personal Information
Emerge Digital does not sell personal information for money and does not use Customer Content to serve third-party advertisements.
If you select “Allow marketing,” limited website visit and registration event data may be disclosed to Meta for advertising measurement, analytics, attribution, and ad delivery. Depending on applicable law, this activity may be considered sharing or targeted advertising. You can decline or withdraw that choice through “Privacy choices” in the website footer.
8. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to:
- Provide Content Lab.
- Maintain account and subscription records.
- Comply with legal and tax obligations.
- Resolve disputes.
- Enforce agreements.
- Prevent fraud and repeated trial abuse.
- Maintain security and operational records.
While an account is active, Customer Content is generally retained to provide the service.
After a trial or paid-access period ends:
- Existing content may remain readable and exportable for up to 30 days.
- Content may be scheduled for deletion 90 days after access expires.
- Subscribing or restoring eligible access may cancel scheduled deletion.
- Account deletion requests may be subject to a short safety delay intended to prevent accidental deletion.
Deleted information may remain temporarily in encrypted or restricted backups until those backups are overwritten under the applicable backup-retention schedule. Backup copies are not restored to active systems except for disaster recovery, security, or legal purposes.
We may retain:
- Billing and tax records for legally required periods.
- Consent and policy-acceptance records.
- Security and fraud-prevention records.
- De-identified usage information.
- Records necessary to prevent repeated trial abuse.
9. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information.
Measures may include:
- Encryption in transit.
- Secure password hashing.
- Access controls.
- Tenant-isolation controls.
- Private file storage.
- Signed or authenticated downloads.
- Restricted staff access.
- Rate limiting.
- Bot protection.
- Webhook verification.
- Logging controls.
- Backups.
- Dependency monitoring.
- Incident-response procedures.
No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure will never occur.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and promptly notifying us of suspected unauthorized access.
10. Your Privacy Choices and Rights
You may:
- Review and update account information.
- Correct site-profile information.
- Export supported Customer Content.
- Request access to personal information.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of personal information.
- Cancel your subscription.
- Delete your account, subject to applicable retention obligations.
- Opt out of nonessential marketing communications.
Residents of states that provide additional privacy rights may submit requests to exercise those rights.

We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.
11. Children’s Privacy
Content Lab is not intended for anyone under 18.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact us so that we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.
12. United States Availability and Processing
Content Lab is offered only to customers located in the United States.
Our service providers may process information in different locations, including locations outside your state. By using Content Lab, you understand that information may be processed where Emerge Digital and its service providers operate, subject to applicable law and contractual protections.
13. Third-Party Websites
Content Lab may contain links to third-party websites or retrieve public information from third-party websites.
We do not control the privacy, security, content, or availability of third-party services. Their privacy policies and terms govern their activities.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in Content Lab, our practices, service providers, or legal requirements.
We will post the updated policy with a revised effective date. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice when required by law.
