Acceptable Use Policy

1. Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy governs your use of Content Lab.
It is designed to protect customers, Emerge Digital, third-party service providers, website owners, and the public.
This policy forms part of the Terms of Service.
2. General Requirement
You may use Content Lab only for lawful website-content research, planning, drafting, editing, review, and export.
You are responsible for your instructions, Customer Content, generated output, and published content.
3. Illegal and Harmful Activity
You may not use Content Lab to create, facilitate, promote, or distribute content that:
- Violates applicable law.
- Facilitates fraud, theft, deception, or financial crime.
- Facilitates hacking, malware, credential theft, phishing, or unauthorized access.
- Exploits or endangers children.
- Promotes human trafficking or sexual exploitation.
- Contains unlawful threats or harassment.
- Incites imminent violence.
- Provides meaningful assistance for terrorism or violent extremist activity.
- Facilitates the unlawful acquisition or use of weapons.
- Violates sanctions or export-control laws.
- Infringes intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, or other rights.
4. Deceptive Content
You may not use Content Lab to:
- Impersonate another person or organization deceptively.
- Create fake testimonials or reviews.
- Fabricate credentials, experience, case studies, research, or customer results.
- Create false endorsements.
- Misrepresent AI-generated content as verified expert analysis when it has not been reviewed.
- Conceal material sponsorships or affiliate relationships where disclosure is legally required.
- Make knowingly false product, health, safety, legal, financial, or performance claims.
- Manipulate customers through fraudulent scarcity or false urgency.
- Generate content intended primarily to deceive search engines or users.
5. Spam and Unwanted Communications
You may not use Content Lab to create or facilitate:
- Unlawful spam.
- Unsolicited bulk messages.
- Phishing.
- Deceptive lead-generation campaigns.
- Purchased-list abuse.
- Messages that violate CAN-SPAM or other applicable communication laws.
Content Lab does not include automated email or social-media publishing in its initial version.
6. Intellectual Property
You may not:
- Submit content you do not have a right to use.
- Request close imitation of a living writer or identifiable competitor in a way likely to infringe rights or deceive readers.
- Use Content Lab to reproduce copyrighted works beyond what the law permits.
- Remove attribution required by a source or license.
- Treat publicly accessible content as automatically free to republish.
- Use generated output without reviewing it for potential infringement.
You may request general tone characteristics, such as clear, conversational, concise, technical, or authoritative, without requesting deceptive impersonation.
7. Privacy and Sensitive Information
You may not submit or attempt to collect through Content Lab:
- Passwords.
- API keys.
- Authentication tokens.
- Full payment-card details.
- Social Security numbers.
- Government identification numbers.
- Private medical information.
- Private financial-account information.
- Confidential third-party information you are not authorized to use.
- Personal information obtained through unlawful scraping.
- Information about children without appropriate authorization and lawful purpose.
Do not use Content Lab to identify, profile, track, or target individuals in a manner that violates privacy or anti-discrimination law.
8. Public Website Access
You may direct Content Lab to access only public HTTP or HTTPS resources that you are legally permitted to access.
You may not use Content Lab to:
- Access localhost or private networks.
- Access metadata services.
- Bypass authentication.
- Bypass paywalls.
- Evade technical access controls.
- Ignore website restrictions unlawfully.
- Conduct vulnerability scans.
- Overload a website.
- Repeatedly crawl a site in an abusive manner.
- Retrieve private, restricted, or confidential documents.
9. Regulated and High-Risk Content
Content Lab is not a substitute for licensed professional advice.
You may not present generated content as individualized legal, medical, tax, investment, or financial advice unless it has been reviewed and approved by a properly qualified professional and its use complies with applicable law.
You are responsible for required disclosures, qualifications, substantiation, and professional review.
Do not use Content Lab to make eligibility decisions concerning:
- Employment.
- Housing.
- Credit.
- Insurance.
- Education.
- Healthcare.
- Government benefits.
10. Platform and Security Abuse
You may not:
- Attempt to access another customer’s account, workspace, site, or content.
- Probe or exploit vulnerabilities.
- Reverse engineer Content Lab except where applicable law prohibits that restriction.
- Extract system prompts or internal security instructions.
- Circumvent credits, quotas, trials, rate limits, or spending controls.
- Create multiple accounts to obtain repeated trials.
- Use bots to register accounts.
- Interfere with queues, workers, billing, or provider integrations.
- Upload or transmit malware.
- Conduct denial-of-service activity.
- Use Content Lab as infrastructure for another competing hosted service without written permission.
- Resell account access.
- Share credentials with unauthorized users.
11. Publishing Responsibility
You control publication.
Before publishing, you must review generated content for:
- Accuracy.
- Completeness.
- Appropriate sourcing.
- Copyright.
- Trademark issues.
- Defamation.
- Privacy.
- Advertising rules.
- Product claims.
- Required disclosures.
- Suitability for your readers.
- Compliance with law and platform policies.
Content Lab quality scores and reports are assistance tools, not legal or professional approval.
12. Enforcement
If we reasonably believe this policy has been violated, we may:
- Block a specific request.
- Remove or restrict unlawful content.
- Suspend provider-backed actions.
- Suspend or terminate an account.
- Preserve evidence where legally appropriate.
- Notify affected parties.
- Cooperate with lawful investigations.
- Report apparent illegal activity where required.
We will consider the nature, severity, frequency, intent, and potential harm of a violation.
Where reasonable, we may provide notice and an opportunity to correct the issue. We may act immediately when necessary to prevent harm, fraud, security threats, unlawful activity, or disruption.
13. Reporting Violations
Report suspected violations to:
Include enough information for us to understand the concern. Do not send passwords, full payment information, or unnecessary sensitive personal information.
14. Changes
We may update this Acceptable Use Policy as Content Lab, provider requirements, and applicable law change.
Material changes will receive notice where required.
